Issue d’une grande famille de nomades, la cinéaste Evelyne Papatie adresse une magnifique lettre poétique à ses enfants, dans laquelle elle raconte leur histoire et l’héroïsme de leur grand-père. Dans ce récit autobiographique, le vélo — avec lequel elle a longuement voyagé pour aller à la rencontre de différentes communautés autochtones partout au Canada — devient un puissant symbole d’héritage, de transmission et de rassemblement.
From a large nomadic family, filmmaker Evelyne Papatie crafts a magnificent poetic letter to her children in which she tells their story and the heroism of their grandfather. In this autobiographical account, the bicycle—on which she traveled extensively to meet with different Indigenous communities across Canada—becomes a powerful symbol of inheritance, transmission and gathering.

Evelyne Papatie est anishinaabe originaire de Kitcisakik. Elle prend part aux productions cinématographiques dans sa communauté depuis six  ans, en tant que réalisatrice, caméraman, preneuse  de son et monteuse. Kokom is moving, co-signé avec Vince Papatie, est son court-métrage le plus connu.
Evelyne Papatie is Anishinaabe from Kitcisakik. She has been part of film productions in her community for six years as a director, cameraman, sound recordist and editor. “Kokom is moving,” codirected with Vince Papatie, is her most renowned short film.
